Mike and Sharon BivensPastor Mike grew up in Danville, Virginia, and received Jesus as His Lord in 1977 as a teenager.  He worked in his family business while serving in many roles at his local church.  He became Youth Leader at the age of 19, subsequently serving as Board Medmber, Mid-Week Bible Study Director, lay minister and outreach minister, and musician.  Mike graduated from Averett University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and married his wife, Sharon, that same year.

Prompted to know more about Jesus and fulfill the call of God for their lives, Mike and Sharon moved to Tulsa, OK, in 1986 and graduated from RHEMA Bible College in 1988 with emphasis in pastoral ministry. 

Pastor Mike continued his education full-time at the Graduate School of Theology and Ministry at Oral Roberts University where he received a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Literature in 1992.  Mike taught as a grad fellow at the university and completed a 14 day study tour at the Jerusalem School of Biblical Studies in Israel.  Pastor Mike interned at other ministry venues and churches during his graduate field studies and became Chaplain of a retirement community in Tulsa. 

Mike and Sharon began working at RHEMA Bible Church in 1988 until accepting their pastoral position in North Carolina.  Mike served as Theological Editor of Publications, Instructor at RHEMA Bible College, and Administrator and Instructor of the RHEMA Institute of Biblical Studies.  Mike also assisted the pastoral staff in visitation, follow-up, and premarital and marital counseling.  Mike and Sharon were involved in various supportive roles at RHEMA Bible Church in Broken Arrow, OK, while facilitating & teaching premarital classes for more than 15 years.

Ordained in 1992, Pastor Mike holds ministerial credentials through the RHEMA Ministerial Association International. 

Sharon received Jesus as her personal Savior at the age of 6.  She grew up in a minister’s home where her parents pastored several churches and evangelized in the states of VA, NC, and SC. Sharon received her Associates degree in Data Processing Technology and Business Management from Danville Community College in Virginia and graduated from RHEMA Bible College in 1988 with emphasis in children’s ministry. Upon graduation from RHEMA, Sharon began working in various departments at RHEMA Bible Church. Sharon holds ministerial credentials with the RHEMA Ministerial Association International.

In 2007, Mike and Sharon moved to Statesville, North Carolina, to pastor Believers Faith Center Church.  They are blessed with two children, Nathan (wife Caroline), and Natalie.
